Joy M. Strickland
Hello! I want to welcome you to Manlius Pebble Hill School.
My goal is to make sure our students feel safe and have a place to process their feelings and difficult events in their life.
MPH recognizes the considerable changes students experience between the PK and twelfth grades. Students are challenged academically, athletically, artistically, socially, morally, and even spiritually. They are developing the ability to think more abstractly and to hold opposing ideas in mind. They are making decisions with potentially long-term consequences, and they are reflecting on the kind of young adults they are becoming.
As the MPH full-time counselor, I am available to students, parents, faculty and staff for consultation. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.
Education
2014 A.C. Mental Health Studies, University of Buffalo
2008 M.S. School Counseling, Syracuse University
1998 M.Ed. English Literature, Teachers College, Columbia University
1994 B.A. English, Trinity College (CT)
